Headache Management with Cranio- sacral treatment and Osteopathic Manual Therapy

Osteopathic medicine is dedicated to the treatment and healing of the entire patient rather than approaching one area of pain.. All current medical literature points to the fact that the body works as one harmonious system rather than as a group of separate parts. Osteopathic medicine looks first to the body’s own healing abilities and offers a unique approach to the assessment and treatment of musculo-skeletal dysfunction. Most commonly, treatment uses a hands-on approach where the therapist moves or manipulates a part of the body to regain its full movement. For example, the thoracic spine that is painful and stiff, results in a restriction in rib mobility which impedes diaphragm and lung activity and can reduce the body’s immune functions. An osteopathic approach would treat all these elements of the chest.

Osteopathy has been defined as a comprehensive system of diagnosis and treatment based on the interrelationship of the anatomy and physiology, for the study, prevention and treatment of disease.

Who can benefit from Osteopathy?

  • Back Problems: postural, low back strains, acute or chronic aches
  • Sports or Work injuries: musculoskeletal injuries, falls
  • Headache and Neck Pain; whiplash injuries, postural or stress induced
